NOTE: James appears to have been the son of William Biscoe and Mary Amey (Frost) (b. 1860 Ugley, Essex) m. 7 Aug 1792, and christened 5 Dec 1794 in Much Hadham. Other children were Ann, christened 1793, and John, christened 1801. There are claims on the internet that William was born 1756 in Hunsdon, the son of Thomas Biscoe, but this William actually appears to have died as an infant. A William was baptised, as 'a bastard', in Much Hadham in 1768, probably the son or grandson of Richard Biscoe whose family removed from Hunsdon to Much Hadham in 1724. He would appear to be a much more likely candidate as the 2nd husband of Mary Amey Frost.
